In a departure from politics; AOL have produced a promo video that seems to be intended as a rival (funny) video that will be circulated by us bloggers and web-users. I was sent a link from the Ragan website where feelings are mixed, well more like 90% against - so what is the verdict? Will this go viral as a great 'The Office' style comedy moment, will it go viral because it is just BAAAAD, or is it a dead duck?

Bad bad PR, not only is it NOT funny, but it is boring too! I think the guy in the film will come to regret ever filming it!
didn't like it, found it unamusing and so was almost awkward to watch!
'The Office' has given us Brits great comedy and Americans the delusion they can imitate great comedy. This is truly awful. And not even in a "so bad it's good" kinda way. Not that AOL has ever been on my top ten list of respected brands, but this makes them look bad. Bad, bad, bad.
bloody dreadful. Good job I never thought much of Alec Baldwin anyway
so so bad!
Not particularly funny... just kind of weird. Too bad, though, because Alec Baldwin is actually a really good comic actor.
Here are the American doing the comic mockery! They should stick with Burgers and NOT comedy!!
It was cringworthy and poorly produced!
I have to agree with the majority, it is really bad, not funny, and relatively pointless! It is a shame coz I do like Alec but he has lowered himself by doing this, stick with the Orange cinema ads!
I have a few things to say about this.
Firstly why is Alec Baldwin selling out to AOL? I used to think of him as a good actor!
Secondly I think this is kind of working in a PR sense, people are looking at it and even though we may think its rubbish comedy AOL is know in our minds. Remember the famous quote: "There is no such thing as bad publicity"
In my opinion, good PR as the viral has achieved what it set out to do, passed from peer to peer and generate some kind of buzz on the internet (which it has done according to the viewer comments). It's a terrible video but it's meant to be and I think it adds a bit of personality to a pretty personality-less corporation. Using 'The Office' format was a big gamble though as the Americans can't pull it off as well as the Brits.
Is this even PR? I think it's a joke...an unfunny joke at that. Complete yawn-fest. As if AOL even need a video to increase their business worth anyway...if anything this will be damaging.
